Do Appliances Delivered Remove Your Old Appliance?

I just bought a washing machine from them online, to be delivered, but after I ordered, I received an email saying that the old appliance must be outside.

I live rural and am not in a position to take the old appliance outside, or bring the new one in on my own for that matter.

Has anyone had any experience with them? Do they come in and take your old appliance out? And vice versa.

    Thanks!

By law they are obliged to take the old machine but I fail to see why you need to put it outside the house - unless they plan to dump the new one on the path and expect you to bring it in.

Their FAQs make no mention of a requirement to leave the old machine outside the house....

How can I get rid of my old appliance?

When delivering a new appliance, please request to take away your old appliance and then we will collect your old one for free and recycle it. Please ensure it is disconnected, clean, dry and ready to go with our driver. In relation to fridge/freezers these must be disconnected, fully defrosted, clean and dry or they will not be collected.

Maybe the delivery drivers are not insured to be inside your house. There's always a chance they could damage flooring or wall, door frame etc, taking it out of your premises.

Their service is to your door, not to your utility room.

I'd say they'll be happy to leave it inside your front door, but that's about it.
They do offer an installation service, but only in/near dublin(where afaik they have their own vans).

Outside of that they use third-party couriers. They can be a bit hit and miss.
I've used AD 3 times and found them a pleasure to deal with, but the couriers were a disaster.

If you can get a hand I wouldn't worry too much about leaving the old machine outside for a few days as long as you can cover it/ keep it from getting dirty.

You could also ask AD who the courier will be and ring them yourself to check (They used these guys for me lately)
