Back up battery needs replacing.... every 5/7 years or thereabouts, easy done.

Proceed to Assembly Point. Await instructions from designated
    Fire Warden.

...replace backup battery. Some alarms only have a lifetime of 7 yrs so check if this is the case.

I meant it beeps every minute or so

Is it only beeping when you're there ?
You need to find out what it's doing when you're out.

If it's only beeping when you're there , then it's watching you and I'd suggest a tinfoil hat .

Or it's a camera that Santa uses to
    watch over you with .

It will do that, until you change the battery.

If a fire alarm beeps when no one is there to hear it....does it still beep?:D

Even though you think it is connect to main power there may still be a battery inside that now needs changing.
