Hi all, need to get a new oil pump for Insignia, was lucky it's not a whole new engine as stopped driving right away once there was an issue. Anyone any idea on average how much a new oil pump fitted would costs? Nice bill to get just before christmas :-(

Are you sure it's the pump, the seal on the pump is a well known failure on those engines.

i'm at the mercy of the mechanic i'm afraid, had low oil pressure, and he says it's the pump. engine started making a noise and then losing power, drove straight to garage (about a mile). He said lucky we did and didn't go any further or engine would have ceased!!

Had pump.and seals replaced. Car driving fine but yesterday oil pressure warning light flashed up. Back to garage again today. Could it be something else?

If you drove the car one mile after the warning came up then the engine may be in trouble unfortunately.

Brought back today and said it was seal on oil filter. Am going to.have to find out tho was pickup seal done. Normally would this be done when replacing pump?

These cars if its up 09 to 12 very often have main bearing/crank issues which cause low pressure but this would normally show up on inspection of oil filter
