I have been a multi room subscriber to Sky for nearly 2 years now.I am using 2 sky hd boxes for the subscription.I still have the original standard sky Digi box for reception of the free to air channels. I am just wondering if I get a viewing card from Sky for this box how do sky know that this box is being used at the same address as the 1st 2 boxes if it's not connected to the phone line. The other 2 boxes are connected to the WiFi in the house

There is no way to know what location any box not connected to internet (wifi or ethernet) or phone line is at.

SKY will not give you a card for a box for FTA reception. If you want a inactive subscription UK card to give you the UK channel listings then you will have to get one from a third party, not SKY.

If you want a third subscription box then it is SKY's problem to verify the location the box is at. There is no reason to plug any SKY box into a phone line any longer and it is not compulsory to connect boxes to the internet either.

With the removal of the phone line requirement SKY have given up on actively preventing multi-room boxes from being used at remote locations, presumably the phone line requirement was putting too many potential new subscribers off. If people are dumb enough to have 2 boxes connect via the internet from different IP addresses then they will probably go after them otherwise

Do Sky carry out any inspections on the location of any boxes that are not connected to a phone line or Internet. It is mentioned in the terms and conditions of a multiscreen subscription.
