Cancelling Ryanair Flights

    Hi guys,

I've booked a stag weekend for a friend of mine for June 2018. The stag now isn't going ahead and I need to cancel the flight. From speaking to Ryanair I understand the flights cannot be cancelled and there is no refund (strange that they wouldn't just resell the seats considering it's so far away, but that's the t&c's I signed up to so won't complain). My question is, is there some form of tax I can claim back on this?

    Thanks in advance

You can claim the tax subject to an admin fee which is probably more than the tax itself.

Thanks for the info, can I claim it now or only after the flight was due to depart. I've booked return flights for 7 people. Is the admin fee on each person or on the booking as a whole? Also could you point me in the right direction as to how I go about claiming this?
    Thanks

    From the Ryanair help section...

If you do not travel on your booked flight the air fare, fees and charges are non-refundable but you may apply within one month of the date of travel for a refund of the Government Tax paid using this link.
Government tax refunds are subject to an administration fee. Click here for fee details. If the refund amount is less than the applicable administration fee, no refund will be made.

Remember, there's a decent chance of Ryanair changing the flight schedule between now and then, in which case you'll be entitled to a full refund if it's a significant time change (3 hours or more) on either leg.

I couldn’t fly on the original date booked a few years back. They will let you reschedule your flights for another date and destination but you will have to pay the difference if the price on the new booking is higher. This way you won’t lose the money on the original booking if this is something that would suit you.

The point is the price they will quote for changing the flights will often be more than simply booking fresh flights.

It wasn’t much when I changed them. Would have working out €70 more to book a new flight

Edit: Maybe it’s that way now but it wasn’t when I did it. I can only give my 2 cents on it from that one time.

Yes if you have luggage booked on the flights your cancelling it usually works out worthwhile to rebook, otherwise not so much, depends on the destination I suppose.
