    The plane looked very new so hard to see that it has any "smoking features"!

    Could be a tiny ashtray, I think the FAA still list them as minimum equipment.

    Bingo. It's an ashtray. While smoking on aircraft is mostly illegal now there still needs to be somewhere safe to discard ash should someone decide to break the rules. It's a strange one when you think about it.

    Push the bottom, and it clicks out at the top revealing a little hole to pop a cigarette into for safe disposal.
    It's still legally required.
