    Hi guys

I currently have a VW Golf mk5, 2006, 1.4L petrol. its mint condition low mileage and running perfect, I've kept it really well maintained since I got it. Although it's the perfect car for around town, I'm finding it just too slow for motorway driving. Having looked up articles it appears to be well known that the 1.4L mk5 Golf is underpowered.

Considering swapping for a diesel Golf with a larger engine. I'm looking at stretching to a mk6 (~2009) 2.0L TDI... however most of these in my price range have 100K miles plus... is that an issue for these cars? Would I be buying problems?

Any info or advice would be much appreciated

2009 is almost 9 years old so that’s only 11,000 per year which is low.

Girlfriend has a mk6 2009 with 250,000km on it. Serviced at main VW Dealer whenever needed. Clutch and fly wheel at 180k, never had a problem.
