Does anyone know is it hard to get the reg on a tractor bought in the north and changed to a southern reg? And is it expensive?
    Thanks in advance

Can someone please explain the tax implications of buying a tractor from a private seller up north. Is it the same as buying from a dealer up there as in you pay the vat to the seller if your not vat registered ?
It's just if buying private there will probably just be a price given and no real talk of vat, it is up to the seller to pay the vat up there on the agreed full price ?
And then do you just get it transported down and pay the 200 VRT here ?
Would there be anything else to watch out for in this sort of deal apart from the tractor itself obviously.
    Any advice appreciated

If you're not vat registered you will have to pay the vat up north. Get an invoice detailing total price including vat, that is price ex vat, vat and finally the total Sum. That's all you need. A bank transfer of funds will provide another trail of the total amount of money paid to the seller.
