Electric Oven - What do I need?

I am replacing an old 90cm gas oven and hob and want to get an electric oven with gas hob. I've decided on this one and plan to order on Monday.

We have an electric shower and a 32A evse (electric car charger). The shower has priority over the evse so as not to draw too much current. I think its a 65A main fuse we have.

The new oven will be about 3m from the board. I am guessing I will need 6sq cable and a 32Amcb. Is that right? Anything I am missing?

I won't be installing anything myself, but want to know in advance what's needed. If it's a big expense, I will stay with gas.

Its going to need an RGI installer, and the electrical work involves your supply cable (have you given some thought to the routing of same?). If you have a priority set up between shower and charger , something similar will need to be considered again since its the same load. A good chat with a reputable sparks ( Safe electric) will set your mind at ease. Then you will should have all your answers, and figures.

The oven is going to the same place, so gas line will not be moved. The oven happens to be on the same external wall as the board. The cable run will be an easy job, as it will run from under the stairs behind the fridge and a press. There is already a hole in the wall the cable will run through. Distance from board to oven is less than 2 meters, but I reckon the cable run will be 3.

Is an RGI guy needed to disconnect the old oven and connect the new one? I know a reci is needed for the electric work, as it involves going at the board, but nothing is being done with the gas line.

Those undercounter ovens usually only need 13amp plug and socket.

If true, that would save a lot of trouble. But there are 2 ovens and a grill. I would have thought it would need more than a 13 amp plug, no?

I checked with a supplier and will need to have a 40A MCB installed, as expected. I would only get away with 13Amp plug if it was a small electric grill. Even then it would be pushing it.

You'll need an RGI and an REC as that cooker has to be wired to the dist. board.

The RECI I understand. A new MCB needs to be added to the board. The RGI I don’t. It’s as simple as turning off the gas, removing the hose from the existing cooker and attaching to new cooker. It’s little more complicated than changing over the gas bottle for the BBQ and is almost exactly the same as replacing a washing machine. Too many idiots out there for it not to be legislated for I suppose.

Except it's easy to see a water leak!
I agree it's a simple task, but a very important one to get right. As you say, there's a lot of idiots out there.
