Hairdresser for redheads!

Help! I’m a natural red head but I’ve turned 40 and I notice the red isn’t as vibrant as it was. I’ve tried dyeing it with 2 hairdressers both of whom turned it brown and had to strip it out as the colour was clearly too dark for my skin. Both well known hair salons. Please, surely to God, there is some hairdresser who is great with natural redheads - any advice so appreciated as I don’t trust anyone now 😞

I have the exact same issue - it's so frustrating. I even went to a VERY expensive and renowned salon in Dublin and got a color specialist and the same thing but 4 times the price (I'm so annoyed).

I will say to get your hair more vibrant at home colour treatments are the way to go - I'm using a REVLON colour cream at the moment which is great, it's a conditioner and colour treatment in one. I've never been happy with an actual dye - I think balayage and weekly/biweekly colour treatments are the way to go for me from now on!

If you just want it more vibrant, choose a direct dye semi or a coloured conditioner on a regular basis.
I can recommend Revlon Nutri colour creme. It's a coloured conditioner. Use it every couple of weeks and leave it on for about 30 minutes. It doesn't contain ammonia and you don't mix it with developer so won't cause any damage.
If it's too vibrant, just dilute it with a basic white conditioner.
