may have to use parcel motel, parcel wizard etc as in uk

battery life is not great at 3 to 4 hours but if you're going to be using it plugged in a lot won't be an issue.

Yes and no. I believe from the info above that the 4GB memory which comes with the laptop is soldered in, but that there is one slot provided for an additional memory stick which you can add yourself to increase the memory. 

Most likely you would be looking to buy a stick of identical specs to the built in memory, so 4GB  PC4-17000 DDR4 2133MHz

It may be possible to add a memory stick of higher capacity, like an 8GB, giving you a total of 12GB of RAM. This may have a downside however. I am not sure that this would allow the RAM to work in dual channel mode with the two different memory sizes, and operating in single channel mode would be a little slower than two matched memory modules in dual channel. 
Basically, dual channel refers to how the CPU accesses the RAM, and to paraphrase the old saying two channels are better (performance-wise) than one.
