Thought Outlander was gutsy on heavy ground LTO, will have a small bet on at 5/1.

No 1230pm prem league distraction game today either.

Having an ew on Outlander, should go well.

Cue Card surely wins today if getting round safely. BDM hasn't been good enough in Gr1 open class, Outlander can be opposed when crossing water and attempting to back up a big win.

Cue Card 2/1 and Defi Du Seuil 10/11 (Ascot 2.40) - a solid win double for me.

2.05: Top Notch 3/1. His form over fences is rock solid - a high class, highly consistent 2nd season novice in a field of relatively exposed animals. Respectable comeback over hurdles behind Harry lto. I'd always be prone to forgive below par end of season Aintree run, and his run behind Yorkhill sets the standard here. Think Smad Place will set it up for TN up from - he can just sit in behind and let his neat jumping take him into it.

2.25: Champers on Ice 13/2. A decent novice hurdler when 3rd in Albert Bartlett two years back, reverting to hurdles should suit as jumping over fences was slow, stays all day so conditions perfect and Pipe has a serious record in race. 5 places PP

Would be amazed if Cue Card is still around the same level that something can beat him in that field.

Count Meribel won that very well, NTD seems to be in form around now(as usual), had a speculative punt on Bombers Moon in the last at Ascot, same trainer, jockey, owner well worth a play imo.

Added Carter Mc Cay for a nice price treble (hopefully)

Defi de seuil would have to be quite a bit better that yanworth to beat lil Rockefeller judging on last years running of this race, and none of his form would suggest that he is as of yet, we all know how juveniles struggle the following year and defi has it all to prove.lil Rockefeller the bet of the day for me.
Lil Rockefeller just lost to yanworth last year giving 4 pounds and he's getting 3 off defi du seuil today.

Rockefeller looked to have regressed quite a bit since that race, lost my balls on him a couple of time, wouldn't be convinced he will like the soft or worse ground either.

I would be disappointed if Defi doesn't win well unless he is a "spring horse", my biggest fear of backing any JP horse at this time of year.

Suitsus@10, Sir Ivan(fi)@7, Le Rocher and/or Sam Spinner both were @11 earlier in week.
And anyone apart from SSP over in the stick ball as already have current leader @126.

Top Notch must be the most efficient horse over a fence in training. Neat as you like. Makes it look easy.

Effortless by Top Notch, he is improving nicely.

Aye, surprised at how poor Smad Place was. Was jumping with zest up front from the off until roughly the middle of the race but the second he got headed by Royal Regatta it was game over.

Jockey wasn't giving him a hard race either. Strange run.

Smad has two ways of running, really well or terrible, mightn't have fancied it today.

Might be the last race for Cue Card :(, I doubt Tizzard used that race to bring him on.

Brilliant from Bristol De Mai but the rest were awful.

I’m delighted for Daryl Jacob, he’s a top jockey as we all agreed on here last year 😉

LOL. He did his best to lose it at 2nd last. McCoy even referenced Might Bite when looking back at it.
