He'll show up for work in the first day. His employer will ask for his p45. He doesn't have one, so he'll ask the employer for their employer number.
He'll phone the local tax office, tell them he started a new job with the employer, and that's about it.

He will also need to contact the social welfare office to close his welfare claim.

Does he need to register online or will a phone call suffice...hes kind of worried theyll make a thing of it bc he wasnt registered before or will they not care and set him up ????

He has to register online with Revenue and apply in that way for a tax credit very a copy of which will be sent to both him and his new employer.
He will need his employers registered number and his own PPSN an email address and a password.
