An post "Unable to deliver" no delivery attempt note left?

Has any body experienced this before? after I tracked it,it said, attempted delivery , which failed then back to the DSU, then out for delivery again and then it said "Unable to deliver" and now its back in the DSU but I don't have missed delivery note.

A) Label is smudged/wrong

With some contract parcels, a docket is only left after the third failed delivery the following day if that makes any sense.

A) I hope not, its from amazon, haven't had any bad labels as such ever. Any possibility they would they try deliver tomorrow?

Had one similar end of last month.

Never once came to the house, on 2nd fail left it in the DSU for pickup (only knew it was there as I watched tracking). He was meant to make a 3rd attempt but equal corner cutting there.

Had same last saturday. Got a text to say delivering that morning, call 08xxxxxxx if not around to reschedule.

Was waiting on the package, and had a teething baby, so spent tge morning in my front room holding baby looking out the window. An post never came. Got an email then to say failed delivery.

Rang the number immediately and driver answered. Said hed tried to deliver earlier that morning (he had in his eye) so i said but thetes no delivery slip even. He said they dont leave a slip until 3rd or 4th attempt. I hinestly dont think he even attempted it and was just trying yi skive a drop off the list.

I think he knew he was in the wrong and caught on it as he said hed be right up as he wasnt far away...

It wasnt the usual postman mon to fri who is v reliable so wonder is this just seniority basrd overtime but they dont fancy doing all the drops.

No , just based on who is willing to come in on a Saturday .

Some people will never do a Saturday outside Xmas .

From what I heard the next time they revise routes in any delivery office they will be trying to incorporate those Saturday deliveries into regular duties

ETA From what I saw in the past there can be people from the newest in the company to the oldest who will cut corners .

Had a package due today.
No postperson came to the door. No missed delivery notices left.
The tracking site says:
1200 'unable to deliver'
1300 'at mail centre'
1700 'unable to deliver'
Two apparent attempts today, yet nobody came.

Same issue just yesterday. My room is at the front of the house with big windows from which I can clearly see the front gate when I'm at my computer (which is noisy as **** to open so even if I don't see someone come in, I hear them). No sign all morning, no text, no docket. Amazon email me at 13:30 saying An Post tried to deliver and to contact them. I was ready to go to the depot today to collect but just checked Amazon and its out for delivery again. Great so you can not even attempt to deliver it and I have to wait another day? Joke. Two cars parked outside the house so obviously someone is home. No excuses.

I had two packages delivered from an post last week, and another one marked as attempted delivery, marked at the exact same time as the others were delivered.

Generally seems to be a case they're in the depot and scanned as scheduled for delivery, but never actually make it to the van, or they get missed in the van.

Seems to be an issue with An Post and Amazon.

Example
Got text on a Friday from An Post saying "Your package is out for delivery"
Tracking details say delivered at 6.00pm that day.
There was someone home all day.
No package arrived and no note either.

I believe that once it's out for delivery, their system will update status to "delivered" by end of day unless manually overriden by postman to "delivery attempted".

In this case, the package was in the An Post van all weekend (never got round to my house) and eventually delivered Monday.
