Glass top

    Hi Guys,

I am thinking of putting a glass top on my tank, it's open top at the moment, but the evaporation is quite literally thru the roof. My only concern with putting on a glass top is gas exchange with the water surface. Is this a concern as the glass won't be allowing an oxygen in or a minimal amount.

I have also notice alot of mould on walls in my bedroom and I am maybe going crazy but I have been suffering with bad sinus allergys would this be a cause of that?

    Any thoughts?

If its a large tank then maybe it could be responsible for some mould over time. Cant say about the allergies.

If you have an airpump with an airstone or sponge filter you should be oxygenating the tank sufficiently. Its not like it will be airtight, I'm imagining there will be space for wires in a cutout in the lid or maybe a feeding hole.

I have Glass lids on my Aquarium and dont have any evaporation or mould issues. A guy on Adverts built my 4/1 tank but im sure he will make lids and braces for you.

The way mine is done is that I have 4 glass lids with one corner cut from each of the lids like follows
