Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My heart breaks for Louise James, the lady that lost 5 members of her family in the Buncrana tragedy. I personally have lost 2 close members of the family to car accidents and my question is... should the details of the inquest be kept private for the family only, I know when the inqeuest were held for the family I lost were held, it was heartbreaking to hear the details of how they died etc but it was just as hard to know that that information was shared on the locals news, media, social media and so on. Families are already suffering so much on the death of a loved one, why should they endure the local gossip and idle talk of how much alcohol was in the persons body, medication, details of the death and the pain the deseaced would have suffered. I’m aware the details are factors in relation to recommendations that can be put in place to prevent such tragedies but my opinion is that the more harrowing details should be kept private for the family and only the recommendations put forward based on the decisions of the inquest hearing available for the public? Isn’t love to hear others views on the matter!

The entire point of inquests is that they are public; if private there would be constant accusations of cover ups in the most minor situations which would be even worse for the families involved.
