Thinking of upgrading my heating controls and there's a good deal on Tado smart heating system on Amazon at the moment. If I bought it and got a registered contractor to install it would I be eligible for a SEAI grant?

Thanks for that - but I'm not sure my specific question is addressed. Am I still eligible for the grant if I supply the heating controls myself and have then professionally installed? I assume I would be if the controls are compliant with the specified standards?

Once the controls meet the criteria, there shouldn't be an issue once they're installed by a registered contractor.

I’ve never used tado controls but as long as they you can seperare zones with 7 day programmer on each then there shouldn’t be an issue. You best bet is to call them directly and ask

Yeah Tado does that and a lot more besides - even works with Google home or Alexa so can use voice control. tado° Smart Thermostat Starter Kit (v3) - intelligent heating control with geofencing via smartphone https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01MG5BION/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_lm9fAbWSQ41XR

    From that document, I linked:

All heating control products must conform to the appropriate BS, EN or IS standard for that particular measure. As a minimum, the following Standards should be satisfied:
    • EN 60730-1:2011 Automatic electrical controls for household and similar use. General requirements
    • BS EN 60730-2-7 Automatic Electrical Controls for Household and similar Use Part 2-7: Particular Requirements for Timers and Time Switches
    • BS EN 215 Thermostatic Radiator Valves. Requirements and Test Methods
If the Tado meets those, then should be fine. Not familiar with the programme so I don't know what evidence needs to be provided on that front.
