Amazon changing order tracking classifications?

Looks to me like Amazon are trying to be a bit less transparent when it comes to dispatch times?

I had an order that I thought was dispatched because where it said "Not yet dispatched" it changed to "Arriving 28 Nov - 29 Nov" yet when I check the actual tracking it still indicates its not yet been dispatched.

Yeah it seems to have changed in the past few days. The descriptions "Not yet dispatched", "Preparing for dispatch" etc have gone.

Preparing to dispatch is still there if you go to your individual orders but their format has changed alrite and you seem to have to log in more often now

I had two orders since early October.

First was alcohol which was ordered Friday evening and in my PM Monday morning.

Second was a headset, again ordered on Friday and arrived into my PM Saturday morning.

I've a feeling it's related to the location of the products.

Maybe some are in the central shipping point and others need to move there.

The second order had dispatched as per the update until theThursday when it kicked into gear with proper updates.

My last package was "dispatched" on the 20th, but that was actually the date that it left the carrier facility here in Ireland, not the warehouse in the UK where the stock was presumably held

"Preparing for dispatch" has now gone altogether. In fact the whole system has been turned into a lie to con the customer. If you think about it you can't track a package that is still an unpacked item stuck on a shelf in a vast warehouse.

The process description that the customer sees has been changed to make it look less obvious that items are still sitting on the shelf days after being ordered.

If you get your item delivered to you within a reasonable amount of time,I think that what matters, its up to oneself if they want to deal with amazon and their new procedures

Is that Credit Card or Debit Card?

I don't think I ever get debited until the item is actually dispatched but that is mostly with a credit card.

LOL went to check this and noticed that I've a delivery via iparcel to come and the email says sent by IPARCEL_IE_EXPRESS. EXPRESS who do they think they are kidding :D:rolleyes:

Thats really strange, even with a debit card (just looked at dispatch dates and bank statments) I can cancel up until dispatch. Only did that recently where order was still preparing for dispatch after 4 days, in fact it was the order that prompted this thread as they changed the tracking classifications as I was cancelling and making a new order.

I just ordered a item today and I went to view order/s on my account,it says Preparing for dispatch',estimated delivery 5th-7th Dec,so that facility still functioning

I've 4 orders waiting for Amazon to extract their metaphorical digit and despite checking them 3-4 times a days I haven't seen the words "Preparing for dispatch" since I stated this thread.

Same with mine. Maybe it's a phased rollout of a new system.

My order was with a marketplace seller not fulfilled by amazon so maybe that's who's giving that message

The change in their website transparency on order status is very annoying but when I think about it it was all very vague by them anyway. "Shipping today" was one where it wasn't shipped that day and the following day it still said "Shipping Today".

Their own One Day Shipping with Amazon Logistics is just as Vague. "Will deliver today" and it isn't delivered at all.

Oh Amazon, you and your shenanigans. :D

It seems to cut both ways as an order that was supposed to arrive on the 4th and another on the 7th are both now due tomorrow the 1st.

I think it may be down to Amazon having far less control over the picking and dispatch process than they want us to know about.

I have a miserable tiny order due for Delivery on Monday that hasn't even hit the picking queue yet(I assume). The thing is worth £6 so if they send it by DHL/UPS(iParcel)(definitely not An Post if they promise delivery by Monday at this rate) etc then they will pay more than the item is worth to send it to me. It's a Marketplace seller item that they are fulfilling.(they're covering the shipping because they missed up)

My last order for 4 items appears to have been split in 2 but you wouldn't know this by looking at "your orders".

Here's a trick. Go to help, contact us and you will see where you can choose which order and in there you will see the OLD setup and I can see my 4 piece order is actually split to a 1 piece and 3 piece order and it does say "preparing for dispatch"(which means they haven't even started) so you can still see the old way but it's a long way around to find it.

In other Amazon news I decided to return an item that arrived for a Christmas present. It is £27.95 and Amazon automatically said "nah we don't want it back, here's your money back". Umm okay. €30 or so. Merry Christmas to you too Amazon :D

I bought €1100 worth of stuff on Monday, all sold by Amazon directly and it's all still sitting on the none dispatched queue. Money gone from account as well.

Anyone else having orders for in stock items not dispatching?

I placed an order on the 25th January and they still haven't dispatched it.

They seem to take the piss with " free super Saver delivery"

Since the new year I've found dispatch times with free delivery have been much quicker than back around Christmas. Last couple of items have been within 24 hours.
