    If you have an EBS mortgage and are on the variable rate....

    AIB are currently shouting about having the best mortgate rates on the market but their subsiduary EBS have not reduced rates. Those on EBS variable rates appear to be subsidising the new customer incentive offers EBS are promoting.

    However, if moving seems like too much hassle, there is another option. EBS fixed rates for 1, 2 and 3 years are much better value than the current variable rate.

    I called my local branch this week and moved to 2 year fixed. It's saving me ~€75 on my monthly repayments or about €1,800 over the two years.

    For me, it was worth making a phone call and signing a form for.
