Looking to get some information on a 2007 Peugeot 207 1.6 automatic. I know there a 4 speed box but thats it.

Are Peugeot autos any use ? And anything else to look out for on a 207 ?

Peugeots aren't any use full stop, maybe have a look at the Ford Fiesta 2007.

Been there with a Fusion already, and after 1500 quid repair bill for the gearbox we wouldn't go near a ford semi auto again.

The 207 is quite a good car in general. The weak point IMO would be the 1.6 diesel, but a 1.6 petrol with a conventional torque converter gearbox should be reliable. They’re not fast and they’re not particularly efficient either but I’d have one over a lot of automatic small cars which use robotised manual gearbox as their automatic option. It would want to be cheap too, not much call for 1.6 litre small cars. Watch the spec level too, the base S model is very basic. I’d imagine the automatic gearbox was only offered in a high spec version though.

    Cheers Colm.

Its in SX model with 25k miles. And its advertised at just under 4k. Its up online for 44 days through a dealer. Do you think there could be much haggling to be done here ?

Get the old uk reg from the seller and do a free check. Mileage is very low.

Check prices on similar 1.4 manual ones. It’s not worth anything more.

    I could buy 07s for €7k 8 years ago.

There's a specific problem with that Peugeot auto box , throwing up a fault indicator on the dash, and stopping it changing gear.

    Here's its own problem forum
