Really do you think the estate puts people off?
I like Estates and they are very handy with kids.

Listed as engine size 2.0 but under tax it is listed as 1501-1600cc?

    That's just a typo. My mistake it's a 2.0tdi.

That's a good point about the work I've had done on it. Maybe best to leave it out. I thought it was worth a mention to prove that the car isn't needing anything.

Estate cars are more expensive to buy new, so IMHO, that should be a good selling point, but people have different opinions on that. That 2.0 diesel engine had a bad reputation for oil pump trouble....not saying that's the sole reason it's slow to sell, but a lot of people will not touch a VAG car fitted with the 2.0 ltr from around that time....have you had the car from new? Can you check if the oil pump was ever replaced / modified? If it was the 1.9 engine, it would have been more attractive to buyers.

Two things that may put some people off would be
    1) the 2L engine considered more prone to problems than the 1.9 (for example)
    and
    2) the auto box - they don't have a good reputation (deserved or not) and
    apparently expensive to repair.

I think the last 1.9's were problematic as we're the early 2.0's,

Interesting points raised. The 2.0tdi cr engine in my car I always found to be a great engine with plenty of (140bhp) acceleration. The old 1.9 unit was noisy and slow. But maybe more reliable.

I've always had the DSG serviced so it should go on forever.
I'm kind of thinking that maybe the fact it's an estate might limit its market.

I have had a 2003 A6 for a few years now with the 130bhp PD engine and I know a few who have those engines in Passats and no one would describe them as slow - or even noisy. Mine has 240K mls and a friends Passat has 300K mls so they do wear well .
THe 2L got a bad name and , deserved or not , they are harder to sell .

Ah sorry I wasn't thinking about the 130bhp 1.9. I was thinking of the 90 or 110unit. Although I do find the Common Rail 2.0tdi much smoother than any of the 1.9 units.
I always though it was the early 2.0tdi PD units that were troublesome.

The 1.9's were a little noisy but some were great engines. People drive one and assume they were all the same but Bhp ranged from 90 to 130. I'd agree they didn't feel underpowered in the 130bhp pd, the avf,awx engines were truly brilliant.

It often happens that people just latch on the fact that 2L were troublesome - they don't differentiate between early or late etc.
The 1.9 engine for example with the BXE code had a bad spell in 07/08 (IIRC)- many had a conrod coming through the block.

There are probably several factors that it has not sold yet...we are now coming up to the end of the year.....so people will prefer to wait, and possibly buy cheaper in the new year, as the car will be one year older. The automatic transmission, the 2.0 diesel engine, its a estate, I take it that it's on the wrong side of the 2008 tax? Any or all of these will influence people. For the VAG 1.9 TDI's ... I have ( like another poster here) a 2003 A6 with the 1.9 130 HP engine fitted. It's the AVF type. Either the AVF or the AWX type 1.9's were amongst the best engines VAG ever produced. The power and economy of this engine is phenomenal... too fast at times, as the speed creeps up unnoticed..
Having said all of that,, your car looks really well, nice condition and nice metallic colour. Hang in there, I'm sure that it will sell.

It's actually on the right side of the 2008 tax. So €570 for tax.

But the same car in a manual is only 390 Euro to tax
