    Hi Folks

Thinking about buying ND Filters, how would Cokin be rated these days or are cheap ND filters a waste of money. What would you advise

Also interested in hearing opinions on this, Lee filters seem to be crazy expensive.

I used to have Cokin filters, but you will get the Magenta casts with these.

I've switched to Lee, my kit is M4/3 so these are more affordable for that format.

There is other less expensive alternatives which I've seen recommended by Pros e.g. Hitech.

I've bought Haida ND filters, havent tested them yet but they seem well reviewed

as everyone says the cokin filters have a color cast but on the flip side if you wanted to scratch that "I must try filters" itch they are a cheap alternative and would work for black and white photography.

but pro level color photography it is probably a no no.

I heard the newer Cokin filters are much better than the older ones. The old ones gave a horrible cast especially if using 2 together.

I was using a set from SRG Photographic. Saw a voucher in a magazine and I think they were about £39 for set of 3. They were fairly decent on there own but when stacked were awful.

I got my first Lee filters in November and they are excellent. Again it was a special offer from SRG photographic. Got the 3 holder kit with a 0.6 soft grad and a little stopper. While expensive they are noticeably better than the others.
