Where has this game been all my life?
Shadow Tactics is a hardcore tactical stealth game set in Japan around the Edo period. A new Shogun seizes power over Japan and enforces nationwide peace. In his battle against conspiracy and rebellion, he recruits five specialists with extraordinary skills for assassination, sabotage and espionage.

Playing it over the weekend and it is exactly what the description above says.

It has a lot of replay ability aiming for different types of runs and the level design is very good.

Its €40 on Steam I got in the Humble Monthly so it cost me €2.50 or thereabouts.

Looks like Commandos with ninjas. Which sounds pretty amazing.

Really love the look of it, have had it on the wishlist for a while. Shame the main game on the humble monthly was pants that month or I would have gotten it.

Played and cleared it shortly after its release. Fantastic that i hope inspires other devs to bring back the "Commandos genre" The level design is so good that there are many routes/ways to finish a mission, which is a beautiful thing

Did you go back for the badges?

I have it in my head that I will but its entertainingly frustrating, on mission 5 atm and have wanted to put the pad tru the monitor a few times and its never the games fault its...."WTF was I thinking there?, that was never going to work"

    Snow can go **** itself.

I didn't replay for the badges, i would have if i didn't have other games to play. I never found it frustrating to be honest, being able to save anywhere makes some areas a case of trying something crazy, then if it fails you can reload super quick and change your tactics slightly. I didn't find the snow that annoying as in most cases you can lead someone to their death around a corner. The areas where you have to walk through maps with shallow water, so much worse....
