Gaming PC for my nephew

My sister has tasked me with getting a gaming pc for my nephew, but they are on a budget of around €500 for everything. Am i better off building one or getting one 2nd hand?

I did see a few on Adverts that looked ok (pentium g4400 running at 3300mhz, Zotac gtx1050 ti, 8gb crucial ddr4 2133mhz, gigabyte h110m 1151 motherboard, 500gb hdd). Would this play CoD/BF at a decent rate? He's addicted to Minecraft, and wants to be a YouTuber (is that a thing now? :eek:) Or is it too low specced? It'll be 1080p max, as i will see if i can get a 22" screen from work for him.

decent spec if the price is right and should play everything at 1080 on high
maybe throw in a small SSD for the OS and use the 500gb just for games

Nothing constructive to add, but youtuber is indeed a thing It's nothing to do with getting older, I hadn't heard it until I came to college.

After factoring in a monitor and peripherals, my sister asked me to go the 2nd hand route.

The only thing i'd be worried about is the Pentium g4400. Is that likely to bottleneck things too much? He's 9, so beggars can't be choosers, but still

I figure i can get him an SSD and an i5 or something similar down the line.

G4400 would definitely struggle in quite a few titles, though on the whole €350 for the machine is very reasonable.

And as you said, you can easily drop in an i5 at a future point if necessary.
