She would but you would probably have to change the front ones too to keep her some way level. Can I ask the thinking behind changing them ?

10/16 on front she looks a bit short on herself if that makes sense , 38s may be too tall? not exactly sure, seems to be ore 38s on rim etc, haven't exactly made mind up, planning on trading current tyres and rims to cover bit of the cost of the change ,
just wondering if anyone else had 600s maybe 690 similar size on 38s.

neighbour put his 390 2w.d. on 38 's ,i think for spraying .Why would you want 38's???

I see a lad doing it for speed.. it is a rocket with the 38s.. you do however sacrifice torque.. he has fragmented farm and draws water..

sorry I seen a pic of a 690 with 38s and 10/16s, ad is now sold and cant get pic
    mine is34 and 10/16s
i heard the speed would be better but not really an issue, 38s wouldn't really be 'high clearance' as such

Are you looking more grip with less soil compaction, or higher speed?
Wider 34 or 38 won't make any difference to speed if you go to a lower profile tyre.
My yoke had 16.9x34 on the back, usual 80% side profile that comes standard.
I came across a set of 600×38 tyres and rims second hand, and as they were 55%side profile, they have exactly the same circumference as the 34's.
So I now have twice the width of rubber on the back and super grip and a lot easier on land, yet the 4wd to the front axle is still in sync.

mine is 2wd, grip in a place that's not overly sticky is less than terrible,
diff lock against probably the issue but tyre tread is poor at the minute,
I thought the 34s looked quite small on the back of her , and 38s were more purposeful looking maybe a silly thought ,
the less ground compaction the better, speed on the road would be nice but not essential as she does about 34k as is

    https://www.donedeal.co.uk/tractors-for-sale/1985-massey-ferguson-690/17288199 would they be 38s?
or just 34s with more tread?
as said noticeable gap between mudguards and tyre, but maybe just tread

34's. They were the most popular option when new.

Put a set of 15/34`s on it wider and higher will fit on same rims, hard to get s/h. Tyre sizes 16.9/34 are 14/34, 18.4/34 are 15/34 hope this helps.
