I paid €390 for the V8 at the Expert Electrical tent at the ploughing championships in September.

    448 in Harvey Norman.

I have a V6 Animal and it barely gets used apart from doing the car. It's not powerful enough compared to my DC41 animal. The battery doesn't last long if you use it on full power. It's a nice to have, but unless you're hoovering everyday it's not worth it.

I don't rate this as a product. Bought a 80 euro version of it by morphy richards that does a similar job

Note that that is the absolute version not the total clean version, models are confusing but strains website is now much better. There are more accessories with the total clean version.
Don’t know about the v6 but the v8 is considerably more powerful

What is the difference between the V8 Absolute and V8 Total Clean?
I am looking for a good hard floor clean as I have no carpets. I hate my Hoover freedom for this.

The only difference is the equipment that you get with it.

V8/V6/DC51 etc is the model - the engine of the hoover and the battery life, etc.

Total Clean/Animal/Absolute is the version and determines what accessories come with it. The underlying machine is the same.

€100 extra for the same thing with a few extra attachments seems like mad money, but then you realise that the cost of these attachments separately is more like €200.

    This is Dyson's business model.

Can't go wrong at that price..

I think there is a discount code going around as well that might discount it further?

Cheers! The codes don't seem to work on electricals unfortunately.

But i can't seem to see which model comes with what tools or which is better the Absolute or the Total Clean? I can only find the V8 animal or Absolute but no details on the Total Clean?

BTW I had a DC34 Animal, and after 2/3 years of everyday use the battery was barely charging.
Was thinking of getting a new one, but got a higher capacity battery from amazon and its back to its best again, MAX power all the time now

V8 is €250 from dyson ebay, refurbished with 1 year warranty

That one is €449.99 (€599.99) on the Dyson site, but the V8 Total is only €399.99 (€629.99). So for €11 more than the Littlewoods price you get the extra tools come with the Total - not sure what they do but Total comes with Quick Release Up-top Adapter, Flexi Crevice Tool, Tool bag and is lacking the Soft Dusting Brush that comes with the Absolute.

Isn't that £250 which is about €282, plus shipping?

Doesn't ship to Ireland. So would have to use Parcel Motel? (height is 73cm so exceeds limit for AddressPal, which is 72cm).

I went with this one which works out around €270 plus shipping or parcel motel/wizard

That one (V8 Animal) OOS now on eBay but they were on sale through this afternoon.

Anyone have a link for refurb V8 Total Clean on eBay? Can't find it under seller "dyson_outlet" probably as out of stock at the moment, but maybe they will restock soon.

No it was £229 or €259 via revolut. Delivery to parcel wizard, no oversize charge.

Agh, I got impatient last night. No sign of the V8 models coming back into stock on the refurb/eBay side, so ordered a V8 Total Clean for €399 on the regular site.

About an hour later, the V8 Animal showed up again on Dyson Outlet on eBay for £229.99. I placed an order, intending to cancel the other order this morning.

I woke up this morning to find the V8 Animal has shipped. I rang to cancel the V8 Total and although not shipped was told it's too late to cancel. I'll just have to refuse it when it arrives. That's fine unless the delivery guy just leaves it at my door.

The difference between the two apparently is just the soft floor tool and tool bag (supplied with V8 Total but not with V8 Animal). Presume the animal can still be used on wooden floors?

I'm in a Black Friday sweat.

Just the tools that come with them. Go to this link and page down, then beside each of the four models use the drop-down to show the tools included.
