Looking to buy the new WW2 Call of Duty and wondering what the more expensive pro version gives and if it's worth it ? My son doesn't have xbox gold yet if that makes a difference

It'll be a season pass for additional map packs and the like that will be released over time.

Just a word of warning, not sure how old your child is but the online COD scene isn't something I'd leave a kid to unsupervised - maybe with mic and chat functions knocked off, if possible
