Hi we are getting a new pup in 2 week time and was wondering if any one knows of any groups in or around the Cork area to help socialise a young puppy ,
We were very lucky the last time we had a pup as there was a great dog walking group that we were active in , but this time I cant seem to find any groups like this ,
I was on to Creedons Doggy Day Care and they said that a day here and there in their daycare is a great way to socialise the pup but I'm not convinced ,
    Thanks for any suggestions .

Creedons are fantastic, I find them just brilliant for socialisation. Also, our hyper dog is so content and relaxed for almost 2 full days after a day in daycare, they really manage to tire him out which is no easy task!

I don't know of any dog clubs but you could set one up yourself on Meetup.com if you were so inclined, I'm sure something like that would get plenty interest.

Other than that, I'd say just walk him in the parks at busy times and let him say hi to other friendly dogs while on the lead.

thats good to know about Creedons , I was actually looking at meetup and might set something up in the future , I might give Creedons a try , but I think a full day might be too much for a young pup.

Do a couple of short stints in Creedon's so. You're right, I wouldn't be inclined to let a young pup do a full day in any daycare.
But, it's a good facility... If you want to socialise your pup, you'd be mad not to avail of it if it's near you :)

Ah, I've never had a puppy so hadn't thought about it being too much for him. I'll definitely be interested if you ever do get round to setting a group up! :)
