    Hi

I'm look at buying Ray Bans and I've very confused on getting either polarized lens or the normal lens. I've looked it up on Google and it's telling me it stops glare but a lot of people seem to not like it for some reason. Can anyone help me please :)

I'd hugely prefer the polarised lens over non-polarised. Glare is reduced and you have sharper vision around reflective surfaces like water or snow.

Polarized lenses reduce glare, particularly good if you drive a lot, or as Dudara said if you're around water or snow. Some people find them uncomfortable to wear in that they seem to alter their depth perception or even give them a headache. I used to work in a sunglasses shop and had a few people return glasses based on this. Don't know what the science is behind it but sure enough some people do find them difficult to wear.

It should be noted that polarized lenses do not offer increased protection from UVA or UVB rays, all sunglasses polarized or not have the same standards when it goes to that (assuming they have CE mark and didn't fall off the back of a truck..!)

The last two prescription sunglasses I got in specsavers were polarized and this time for I'm going to stand my ground and refuse to get them done! I find they are not as strong as my everyday glasses and like Twee. said they give me a weird perception if I look off to my right or left

I genuinely would not be without my polarized sunglasses with prescription lenses. One of my better decisions. I have them for years
