Vaulted ceiling structural options

I have a large open plan living area. 13.6 X 6.4 metres. I have to tie the roof together and I am researching options. Engineer had originally specced a concrete ring beam but due to cold bridging I wanted to avoid this if at all possible. A block on the flat and ring beam on internal wall would have been fine but walls are up now.

Working with engineer we have discussed ridge beam steel or glulam. I have also looked up glulam trusses. Is there anything I'm missing that could be an option ?

I called glenfort in Tyrone about glulam trusses. I have a feeling they are going to work out quite expensive.

Couple of options. But you need to check with your engineer to confirm which one works with your spans and expected loading.

Solid blocks on flat with ublock
Whatever blocks and run stell out inside as a wall plate but this is connected back to 2 columns each end.
Ridge beam connected back to house and sitting on post at end, that sits on another beam spanning the door if you have one.

It depends on the design of the extension. Will you have a large slider and block above it or a glass triangle above it?

we are using steel two steel A frames with block on flat on the inner leaf and a ring beam on the inner leaf only. our room will be 12.6x6. frames will tie into the steel ridge beam. Supplied and errected about 5K. Frames will be up the week after next will add pics to the live build thread
