    Hi all,

Looking to buy a reasonably priced heart rate monitor strap and watch in Dublin.

Could somebody point me in the right direction.

    Many thanks.

Cyclesuperstore on the airton road will probably be the best price, they seem to be cheaper than most for Garmin gear.

There are 2 types of HRM - Bluetooth and ANT+ make sure you get the right one ðŸ‘

At least three types. Optical sensors in the current Garmin models. No strap. Garmin 235 is a good entry level watch that probably has all the features you’ll ever need. Yes, I have one myself.

Also, there are chest straps and there are straps that wrap around your upper arm.

HR straps often come bundled together with a watch but it can be cheaper to buy a watch (e.g. Garmin) on its own and a third-party HRM (e.g from Wahoo, which is what I've been using for years)

Chest strap is the cheapest option and generally regarded as the most accurate one, but some people find the chest strap uncomfortable.

As mentioned already, make sure the HR strap and the watch are using the same protocol (ANT or Bluetooth).
