Buying from a shop on Adverts.ie

    Hi

Looking at Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 on adverts and a few users (presumably shops) have them for sale "unlocked" and brand new.

I enquired with one particular user (well over 400 positive feedbacks) and he said to unlock the phone he would have to open the phone box in front of me and then unlock it for me. Does this sound right?

Should it not be unlocked straight from the box? Or is this the norm?

Any advice from someone who has bought from adverts or similar is appreciated.

    Thanks

No, if he has to lock it then it's network stock not SIM free. People reselling contract upgrades maybe.
