Attaching small diameter towel rail to cosy board

    I need to fix a towel hand rail to a cosy boarded wall (12mm plaster board & 38mm insullation). The end of the rail is circular (smallish) and has 4 holes to drill. I got these wall plugs that are designed for cosy boarding which expand - you won't get out again.

    So there will be 4 holes drilled in cosy board relatively close together. Not going inot the concrete behind with this solution. What is your experience doing this? Will it be ok with repeated (kids) usage? e.g. will it tare off a chunk of platerboard?

    Putting 4 of them fittings very close together is probably going to weaken the plaster board. I would get a towel rail where the screws are covered, then you can use much longer screws.

    For things like towel rails and curtain rails my preference is to drill into the brick, knock in an express nail level with the cosy board, then put a rawl plug inside the express nail and use a regular screw.

    @DublinDilbert thanks for advice. By level with the cosy board, you mean knock it into the contrete flush into the plasterboard.

    What do you think maybe use 2 of the holes?

    Looking at the picture, I wouldn't imagine you are meant to use all 4 holes, just either set of 2.
