I was told once there is no such thing as a stupid question , which way is the way the handle should be facing to allow kerosene to flow through the valve? red or yellow line?

Red is on and the kero flows. The easiest way to remember is, the the lever should be parallel to the pipe (assuming no bends) to be open.
