Hi, we've a portacabin occasionally used as an office, its perishing in winter - whats the most effective / cost-efficient means of insulating it and keeping maritial relations toasty?
Are there some kind of insulation panels that could be fitted without too much trouble to the walls? Would it be worthwhile doing the floor and ceiling too?
    Thanks

Would some of the available shed insulation solutions on the market be of any use?

leave the heating on a timer.

Operating out of a portocabin until we move into the new office in early spring and the heaters are on timer. they come on daily at 830am

If you were real fancy you could get a GSM dialler switch and right the heater to turn it on. Have similar set up on house gates (we use our mobiles not a remote) and its a great job

Okay - wasn't sure what you're after. Had shed insulated using spray insulation and it's the dogs bollo*. Very good insulation. A couple of boys offering this on donedeal.

50mm kingspan foilbacked insulation sheets. Do the ceiling first. Id raise the floor with timbers and put this in between also. Then 18mm marine ply on top. Then do the walls. It'd cost a bit but you'd heat it with a candle after. Anyrhing less would be a waste of time.

Is there not anywhere else that you could have your marital relations other than the portacabin?

You can get insulation sprayed on at about 12 euro per square metre

Insulated plaster board. Tape and joint it. Then paint if required

My woodshop is a steel portakabin yoke. Walls and floor have 150mm of wool insulation and it’s ply lined. Every night this week I’ve come into it around nine and it’s been between 4 and 8*C!
It’s currently 15*C but the heaters on.

Use the best stuff ya can. Coz if it’s not good enough, ya won’t bother yer hole after!

The 2" kingspan sheet has as good if not better U values rhan the 6" of rockwool but takes up less space.

Ply lining is the job. Plasterboard would go in s**t!
