IT Contracting in Ireland for Australian Company

    Hi,
I was wondering if anybody could give me some advice.
I have recently moved from Australia back to Ireland with my husband and two small children. My last Australian employer would like me to do some remote support work for them (approx 2 days/week) @ AUD$500 p/day. This is an ideal scenario for me as I can't get the kids in daycare until next June so I won't be looking for fulltime work in Ireland until then anyway. Grandparents will help out for the 2 days.
My Australian employer wants me to setup my own Ltd company so that they can pay me however I'm not sure is it worth the effort as this will probably be a 6 month contract max. I tried to convince them to pay me as self-employed and provide my PPS number (which my sister does for an Irish IT company) but they say its not enough for Australian Tax Office. I have looked at "umbrella" companies but they have 100euro+ a month and considering is this only 2 days a week its a significant chunk of money.
Could you let me know if I have other options?
    Cheers

Look for an umbrella company that charges on a percentage basis. Usually this is a lousy option, but in your case may be worth it.

Thanks, none of them seem to do percentage anymore so will just have to suck up the fee for 6 months
