Just got email to say online discount of €3.51 is going from 1/1 and my bill also going up €1.50 a month, time to look around? FTTC may be a better option for my usage

Yes, just got my email on this.

A very good service - we use phone and BB only. But, worth looking at alternatives?

    Text of Virgin email below...

"Our Self-Serve Discount will be removed from January
We are making some changes to our discount policy and wanted to let you know that our Self-Serve Discount will be removed. This means that you will no longer get the €3.51 discount you currently receive per month for being registered for My Virgin Media. This change will take place on your first bill after 1st January 2018.

The price of your Virgin Media package will also go up
The price that you pay for your Virgin Media package will also go up by €1.50 a month from January. This change will take effect from your first bill after 1st January 2018. We recognise that you have been impacted by the removal of your discount and also this increase. We do understand that no one likes to see their bills go up so we are always working hard to make sure we can bring you the best possible experience and value from your services.

    What happens next?
We really hope you’ll go on enjoying your Virgin Media package, however, if you want to cancel, you can do this any time, without any penalty or cancellation fees by giving us 30 days notice, simply give us call on 1908. The information in this communication is correct as of 27th September 2017 so if you have made any changes to your account since this date, this may no longer be relevant for you.

To find out more simply visit virginmedia.ie/change."
