Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

I'm putting this in the Offaly forum because the Roads forum tends to be primarily concerned with National roads and this is very much a regional road issue.

Due to a change in my work patterns I now have cause to drive through Edenderry which is a nightmare to drive sometimes and there is some seriously dangerous driver behavior, lads pulling out of side roads at random without giving way or even looking.

Also the town it's self is in dire need of traffic calming, the pedestrian environment is thoroughly unpleasant.

Anyway I had a look at the map there and it seems there is, what looks like, a partially constructed Edenderry bypass to the east of Fr. Murphy St

    https://www.google.ie/maps/@53.3391073,-7.0432555,1775m/data=!3m1!1e3

Was this a celtic tiger era project that was abandoned? google doesn't seem to have much to say on the issue. So thought I'd ask local boardsies. It'd definitely be nice to have Edenderry bypassed but I suppose Offaly coco doesn't have the cash.

Looks more like it was going to be an industrial estate rather than a bypass.

Yes, that was the planned relief road, fell flat due to costs etc etc

Can be found in the draft local area development plan

    http://http://www.offaly.ie/eng/Services/Planning/News/Draft-Edenderry-LAP-2017-2023.pdf,

Would be of a serious help with the traffic now...
