Just looking for some info/advice on spitting my personal tax credits with my wife.

I have returned to education and my yearly gross pay from my part time work will now be only 12k ish, she earns 33k ish a year so obviously if there is a way for me to give her most of my credits or help in some way I would like to do that.

I have looked at the PAYE anytime page on the revenue site but am not sure whether to accept the way they offered to divide the tax credits or not as it doesn't make perfect sense to me.

Anybody have a simple way of telling me what to do? If my take home is basically a dole payment surely I should be able to give her basically all my tax credits or is there any point as in will it make much difference to her overall take home?

You will need €2400 tax credits to cover your dole payment.Transfer everything else that you can. Also transfer bands if you need to.

Thanks, how exactly do I do that?

Is it where it says Personal Tax Credit, and is listed at 3,300 (shared)?

Should I adjust that or is it something else?

Yes, it can be done online...but for something like this, phone them!

    01 7023011 rather than the 1890 number
