So I came off invalidity pension to back to work Enterprise allowance 18 months ago. I have had a relapse and I'm not able to continue my business.

Is it possible to go back onto invalidity pension now?
In the 2016 budget it was announced that the self employed would have access to invalidity by December, is that still happening?

Thanks in advance for your help

It's on the welfare.ie website as happening:-

Self-employed PRSI Measures in Budget 2017

The extension of benefits already provided for in Budget 2107 include:

Self-employed contributors will be eligible for the Invalidity Pension from December 2017. For the first time, this will give the self-employed access to the safety-net of State income supports if they become permanently incapable of work as a result of an illness or disability without having to go through a means test.
, although there's no info on the website yet about how to apply.

As to your question: "Is it possible to go back onto invalidity pension now?" if you meet the current requirements then there's no reason why you wouldn't get it. With BTWEA I think that you'll be getting PRSI credits at Class A (this being your previous PRSI class) so your PRSI record should be OK.

Best thing to do is to apply, as the clock starts running from the day that DSP receive your application.
