Watch under €60

My second born arrived 10 days ago and I want to get a watch to mark the event. Money is very tight at the minute so budget is very low I know but I would like to get something that I will always know the reason for owning.

New or vintage is fine either way, I know vintage will require a service which will well cost more then the budget but that can be looked after in the future.

Been looking at the vostoks and Seiko snxs so far but open to other suggestions, just missed out on a nivada baby whale on the bay as I messed up my bids.

Any and all suggestions welcome.

A teeny bit over budget, but a Seiko 5 comes to mind immediately. You'll easily pick up a decent digital watch for 60, but I'm not sure it's really the type of watch to mark such a memorable event.

Maybe have a look at a vostok ? a cheap and cheerful Russian brand with a bit history to them as well? Can take 6 weeks to arrive though so maybe try and pick a model up on adverts/donedeal etc

Komandirskies are fine watches. Usually a chromed case and a manual rather than automatic movement to keep the cost down but generally rock solid.
And they do have the quirky factor being made in Russia.

Yes and I wouldn't bother as your budget is good for an Amfibia,

If you can old off til Black Friday we might see some €100 watches discounted close to your budget.

You'll not go wrong with a Komandirskie - rugged and dependable, if a little crude.

An older Sports 5 is a cracker too, but you might struggle to get one on that budget.

But the black friday suggestion is a good one too.

Also, engraving is actually not that expensive, and can make a lovely personalisation, irrespective of the value of the item.

Might wait till black Friday so, see if jomashop or creation etc al have any deals. I have been checking out the bay for Seiko 5's but they do seem to sell for somewhat of a premium.

It's an entry level Citizen quartz but certainly good value for money, €60 is a tough budget. The overall style would probably be more appropriate for marking an important event than a Vostok (which are fun but kinda junk).
