A farmer X holds a lease from the landowner and he is allowed to sub-let. He has say 8 years unexpired and grants a 6 year lease to another farmer Y. Is farmer X entitled to the tax exemption on the rent received from farmer Y in the same way as if he was the actual owner of the land? I cannot find any official information…
