HDMI Splitter

Hi I'm trying to find a HMDI splitter that will allow me to use a ps4 and xbox on the same hdmi port on the tv (not at the same time obviously:p)

I don't mind if its automatic or manual as long as it works.

I have tried a couple cheap ebay splitters and they didn't work.


Any suggestions appreciated

If a splitter doesn't work then you need to buy a HDMI switch. There's loads of them out there, some with manual switch, some with auto switching and some with a remote control. Also known as a HDMI hub.

I also bought this switch but I am finding it is switching by itself without the remote being used.

Is there any hdmi splitter out there - remote controlled - but will not automatically switch by itself?

The one I linked above will only automatically switch if you turn another console on

This is not really 4k compatible.

If youve got a 4k tv and a 4k console then any true 4 k switch needs to be HDMI 2.0 with HDCP 2.2 or it wont work.
The linked switch is HDMI 1.4 which only does 4K at 30 frames per second with HDCP 1.x.
So, for example, if you are using a console to play UHD discs or content, this switch wont work.

I have 2 set top boxes that are always on (not just in standby mode) and it is switching between the 2. Thankfully it is only happening when I start to use the remote.

This seems to also be an issue with high end tvs that have a separate hdmi switch box.
