Question on payslip and pay

    Hi All,

I have a questions regarding my payslip and the time my company pays me.

I recently left my job, and the company sent out my last payslip with all of my holiday pay remaining on it. However the company informed me that they will pay me 50% of it this week while the remaining 50% next week.

Since all of my wages and extra holiday pay was put into one payslip, my tax on it was extra difficult since it was a higher normal wage then normally. However I only am seeing half of it this week and then the other half next week.

Why would they do one payslip and then give me pay a week later?

Its just unfair because pretty much all of my holiday pay is now gone to tax, while I still have to wait another week to retrieve my money.

Paying you the second half of your wages is purely a cash flow exercise on their part (maybe they don't have the cash flow to pay you all in the one lump).

All of your holiday pay isn't gone to tax. At most, around 51% is.

Unfair? Yes, but you'll get the rest of your money next week so probably not worth making a fuss over.
