Hello there! It's my first time posting in the Motors forum - I come in need of some advice from those in the know.

My OH is a car cleaning fanatic - he spends hours washing and polishing and buffing both of our cars - he enjoys it. He's getting a new car early new year and it will be white and I'd like to get him some sort of wax or cleaning product specifically for white cars as part of his Christmas present this year. I personally haven't a notion what to get so I googled and got a few recommendations - Poorboys White Diamond Show Glaze for Light Vehicles, Dodo Juice Diamond White, Pinnacle Signature II, Meguiars Ultimate Wax etc.

I would love some pointers from someone in the know - have you used any of the above suggestions before or is there something else I should look at?

Happy to order online so it doesn't necessarily have to be stocked in Halfords. Also if the polish/wax needs specific cloths or pads etc. could you please let me know so I can make sure I have them too.

Thanks so much in advance, I really appreciate any advice you learned folk could share!

There are so many products that will suit his needs. There are products specifically targeted at white but the secret to have paintwork is presented is in the prep work. This is evenue more of a factor for white.
One of the things that will effect whites appearance is bonded microscopic contamination, known as fallout. Over time as this builds up, it slowly takes away from the appearance, and even a brand new car will suffer from it t some degree. Fallout remover are sprayed on clear, and turn purple on contact with contamination, and just require to be rinse off afterwards. This removes the contamination and instantly improves the appearance.

I'm sure he has his own plans for what he wants to buy in terms of wax/sealant, etc, but he will need lots of fallout during the ownership of a white car...so perhaps this would be a safe bet. Or if the car is coming with nice alloys, a good set of wheel brushes would be a nice gift. Wheel Woolies are superb but a bit pricey so maybe they'd be a nice surprise? A combo of Wheel Woolies and Bilt Hamber Auto Wheel fallout wheel cleaner would be very nice on Christmas morning...I think most will agree....simply because buying a wax or sealant may not be exactly what he would have chosen.

Thank you so much, that is very helpful and very much appreciated. I honestly haven't a clue when it comes to car cleaning stuff but I know dirty wheels are one of his pet peeves (i.e. he's always giving out to me about the "state" of mine!) so this is a brilliant suggestion. I want to get him something he will be impressed with at Christmas and something he will enjoy using. Thanks again for taking the time to reply ;)

Very good advice from Curran, if your buying Wax Collinite 845 is excellent on White, i am on my second white car and found that Wax excellent.
Fusco Light is also very good on white.
