Hi , i got let go from my job about a week ago . they gave me one months notice and asked me to finish straight away. I am a paye worked in the private sector. Can I sign up for unemployment assistance until i get a new job?

Yes. As you're actively seeking employment you should be able to claim social welfare straight away.
An exclusion period of up to 9 weeks may apply, such as if you were let go for gross misconduct.
