Applying for second learner permit

    Hello.

A bit of query here that I'd like clarified.

My housemate is learning, has their permit and all that, has their lessons done and is waiting on a test call/is on the cancellation list.

Their first permit expires in Jan 2018. Obviously with waiting lists and what not it's a tight squeeze between now and Jan in case the permit expires before the test.

Can they apply now for their second learner permit eventhough the first has 2 months there or there abouts left just to be sure that they've a valid permit or what?

    Thanks in advance.

    Dont worry
They will get plenty of notice of the test.

Can apply for your licence 3 months in advance. I'd imagine it'd be the same for provisional but you could confirm by contacting NDLS.

Yes you can apply within three months before expiry.
