Was driving down wolf tone quay was doing 58 km two Garda on a motor cycle had a hand held camera on back of bike don't think it was on a tripod

Do they have to stop you ,

Would it have been on a mini tripod ?

I’ve seen them pointing speed gun out the front window of a car so I don’t think the tripod is a must.

Triopd is really only for ergonomics, gun is fine hand held too.

Gun hand held is fine. They would've had to stop you though if your were caught.

Once again proving that the 30kph limit needs enforcement.

But the speed limit on Wolfe Tone Quay is 50. Has it changed to 30 recently? I don't recall it. I thought the 30 only began after the Capel Street junction.
Back to the point, if your speedometer says 58, chances are you were doing under 55 so most likely ignored by the Feds.
Plus, as already mentioned they would have liked you in at the time.... You're free!

If there is an accident due to you driving at 30 in a 30 zone, it's most likely due to be someone else's fault, not yours

The speed limit was reduced on April 1st. I don't agree with it in a lot of the suburbs but definitely agree with 30kph on the north quays. Ask anyone who cycles how much of a free for all it is with private coaches and taxis trying to run them off the road...

I doubt that but at least any injuries would be hopefully minor.

It's been extended since April from Wolfe tone quay, all the way....
