So I'm going to be doing a masters degree in a few years, but I'm worried by lecturers and tutors will forget me. Is it possible to get them to write the academic reference now, then use them a few years later?

Most will provide a reference once you contact them and recap them on how they know you, very few lecturers remember students for years after they leave.

I would imagine they just pull up your results and comment on that. It's an academic reference after all, not a personal one.
