    Because it's a 5-Door? I know Mercedes call their 5-Door Estate's Shooting-Brakes, so the definition seems a little muddy.

Nah, shooting brake is a 2 door only :)

It's a special term that should only be used for special and different cars and not just for any 4 door estate. End of story!

I wonder would the auto pilot software get confused and make bad decisions because the dimensions of the car have changed?!

Surely in the software of AP, decisions are made based on the manufactured dimensions.... particularly parking manoeuvres.

Cool project nonetheless, the owner is brave to be the guinea pig.... probably getting it done for free since they plan to repeat it for other people.

The length & breadth of the car won't change so that won't cause confusion during parking, does parking software have that level of accuracy that it can reverse a hatchback in under an overhang? I'd have thought that it would regard any obstruction as being too dangerous to park near
